Attention incoming freshman!
FPTV offers many different opportunities to get involved. It is up to you whether or not you are up to the task! Also, FPTV will be having a station meeting on Friday September 2nd at noon in the TV studio. All interested in filming should come!
Here are ways you can contribute and who to get in contact with:
FPTV NEWSCAST: The most professional show on FPTV is the FPTV newscast. The newscast films a majority of their show in the studio and requires a lot of crew. The news requires both talent and behind the scenes work. Students can be an anchor, reporter, cameraman, graphics coordinator, and many other positions. The out of studio work is filming packages of events around campus. Those interested can contact Samantha Deabay at deabays@live.franklinpierce.edu or just wait until the station meeting.
SPORTS SHOWS: FPTV’s sports department includes Ravens’ Sports Recap and Ground Pound. Ravens’ Sports Recap is a recap of all Ravens athletics and includes highlights from games. Students can film games on campus or be a camera person in the studio. Ground Pound is a NFL recap and review show. The show is also looking for a third analyst to discuss football. Most of the production is completed in post production, but students interested in editing or filming you should contact Jen Connors at connorsje@live.franklinpierce.edu for more information.
ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS: The entertainment department currently has the most shows, varying from in and out of studio shows. The most popular out of studio show is Kool Kidz. The show is about two college kids who are trying to be cool, but are actually complete losers. The show is always looking for people to help film or act throughout the week. The most popular in studio show is Roommatez, which is a spinoff of the Newlywed Game. Two pairs of roommates are put to the test to see how much they really know about their roommate. The show always brings in a crowd and audiences are encouraged. Anyone can be on the show and it is a guaranteed laugh every show. Another show, Raven Made, is a show dedicated to student work filmed while at FPU. Last year featured short movies and mini television series. This year, the show is looking for more skits that can be about anything. There are also more shows in the works right now including Game Over (video game review show), a countdown review show, and more! Contact James Connelly at connellyj@live.franklinpierce.edu for more details!
COMMERCIALS: Another department we have is the commercial department. These commercials are played in between show breaks and can vary from 15 seconds to 1 minute. The commercials are usually for activities around campus or for FPTV shows. We are always looking for new creative commercials, so email Alex Terrill at terrilla@live.franklinpierce.edu with ideas or to find out ways to get involved.
PROGRAMMING: None of the shows filmed would be made possible without the help from our programming department. These people are
in charge of making DVDs of each show and making sure they are played at the right time of day. Anyone interested in helping program should contact Mat Overdeput and Bobby Driscoll at overdeputm@live.franklinpierce.edu and driscollr@live.franklinpierce.edu for more information.
TECHNICAL REPAIR: On certain occasions, our equipment may not work for some reason. People in the technical operations department are responsible for fixing the damaged equipment and to make sure everything is running perfectly. For more information contact Eric Taverna at tavernae@live.franklinpierce.edu.
