FPTV has now joined with the Pierce Arrow to jointly cover the developing story of Paranormal Activity 2. Over the last few days 8 envelopes containing flash drives have been distributed to different entertainment websites including Entertainment Weekly and Bloody-Disgusting.com, the contents of the flash drives appearing to be promotional material for the upcoming movie Paranormal Activity 2. The strangest part is that none of these envelopes were ever mailed but contain the return address reading “40 University Drive, Rindge, NH 03461″ which is the address of Franklin Pierce University’s Rindge campus.

FPTV’s station manager Nick Caramico is heading the joint initiative, with help from fptv25.com reporter Eric Taverna. The Pierce Arrow has received phone calls and emails from someone claiming to be from Paramount Pictures. The emails are described as being from an employee of Paramount Pictures’ “Interactive Marketing Department”. FPTV has verified the department to actually exist within Paramount, but no link between the sender of the email and the department can be made at this time.

Caramico was able to get a brief interview with Patricia Garrity, Franklin Pierce University Marketing and Communications Director. Garrity was puzzled by the inquiry she received earlier in the day but realized that her email had been overrun by people sending links of the Bloody-Disgusting.com article. “The College used to offer a Paranormal Sciences major,” said Garrity, “but that has not been offered in several years. It still turns up in searches from time to time.” Garrity also noted that several FPU graduates have moved to California and have worked with Paramount Pictures. Students and Professors attending an event Wednesday night were also surprised by the news. Garrity is looking into the matter from the University’s stand point and said she would attempt to get in contact from someone from Paramount.
